Lung Ching (sometimes translated as Long Jin) is a green tea from the Chinese province of Zhejiang. The name translates as "dragon well tea". This alludes to a legend according to which a dragon lived in a well in the village of Hangzhou and bullied the villagers. One day, the dragon discovered fine tea leaves growing around the well. From then on, he feasted on them instead of ravishing the village's virgins.
For the production of China Lung Ching green tea, only young shoots and buds are harvested, gently roasted and then pressed by hand into the characteristic shape. Ling Ching is the pinnacle of Chinese tea culture.
