The Lapacho tree grows in the rainforests of Argentina, Paraquay and Brazil. Centuries ago, the Incas used the extract of its bark as a stimulant and medicinal drink. This red tea is extracted from the bast layer that lies beneath the bark of the tree. The infusion has a unique, vanilla-like flavour.
The Latin name of the orange (Citrus sinensis) already indicates that the fruit, also known as the orange, has its origins in China - oranges were already cultivated there in 2200 BC. It was not until 1520 that the Portuguese introduced the first oranges to Europe. Today, about one third of the world's production comes from Spain.
